Speaking the day after Father’s Day, only his second as a dad, Bosso was in good spirits. “It was really relaxed,” he says of the holiday, adding that he celebrated it with his own father, too. “We had a barbecue outside.” Reflecting on the past year, Bosso sees parenthood as a rewarding challenge. “I thought it was going to be super overwhelming, but I'm lucky to have a really strong support system. My family helps me with everything,” he says. As his own father did for him, Bosso has been focused on creating a safe and loving environment for Saphir to grow up in, despite the global pandemic. “At the end of the day, you’re raising a future adult. I want to make sure that what I pour into him is always something positive,” he says. Saphir has given him much joy over these past few difficult months, too. “Anytime I feel sadness, I just remember his smile,” he says. “He barely cries—he’s always smiling. It puts positive energy in the whole house.”
