I was thinking of today having visited many shops and seeing today’s decorations which are so designer. Christmas just used to be simple and meaningful. The Official The Office Friends Merry Christmas Sweater lady who is a perfect product of an era when having less made you appreciate more. It’s so lovely to see this, we live in such a disposable era that it’s refreshing to see something that really means the world to this lady. We have an old green glass bell, which still tinkles it belonged to my mother in law and it’s over 50 years old, it’s on our tree every year we also have tree toys that we bought when we first got married over 40 years ago I love the old things.

I will never giggle at an elderly person’s Christmas tree again. I used to see them and patronizingly think how sweet they were, but how badly decorated they were. They have a much richer history and memory that my standard Argos one. I’ve still got a little tree made out of pipe cleaners that my mum had when she got married, when she died I had it and it comes out every year, I also have the Official The Office Friends Merry Christmas Sweater bell that was on this ladies tree that was my mums.
